A Snow Day With Pink Paislee!

Wow only 7 more days until Christmas and all my shopping is done, that is a record for me.  This week I will be wrapping gifts, baking up a storm, decorating gingerbread houses and  going to my little man's Christmas concert.  So I thought I would give you some happy winter inspiration before my crazy week sets in.  For this layout I used Pink Paislee's Snow Day collection.  I love the non traditional colors, they make me happy!  Because there weren't enough dots already, ha ha,  I used some punchanella and white paint along the edges to add some fun texture.  Oh and I added a little glitter around the edges, because what's a winter page without a little glitter!

Tim's snow flake die was perfect for this layout!  I used a patterned paper from the snow day line and some packing tape to create a packing tape transfer before I cut it with the snow flake die.  I also cut a piece of acrylic with the same die and attached it to the front of the patterned paper diecut.  I added some moulding paste to the front of the snow flakes and then sprinkled with glass glitter.  I love the chunky look of these snow flakes!

More snowflakes and some fun ribbon added along the bottom of the photos completes this layout.

I found this pretty white garland at the dollar store and added some bells and snowflakes.

And a big soft shimmery bow, I love it!   Have a great week and enjoy all of the holiday festivities!!  Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to stop by.

December Daily Album 2011

Look for this project in the upcoming issue of Scrapbook Trends Create Christmas issue, due out in October 2012!!

Every year I create an album or project to document our December activities.  This year I went with an album that looks like a festive front door!  There are so many fun little details in this album. I used Simple Stories Christmas Collection, can I just say, "LOVE IT!"
I filled a cute little bottle with glitter and pom poms.  This is one of my favorite parts of the album, so cute!

A place to keep photos of this years tree.

Love the polka dots and the holly is from Tim's new holly die.

And a great page for snowman building!  Hope we have snow on the 11th.  If not I will just move the dates around.

This little page was created using a hockey card sleeve and will hold 3 wallet sized photos.

Have you created a December Daily project this year?  I would love to see what you have come up with.  Leave me a link to your project in the comments section.

More She Art

So I finally created another "She Art" girl.  I love how she turned out, much more modern than the last girl.  This time I created on a 6 X 12 piece of chipboard instead of a canvas.  I am going to frame it in a bright, funky frame.

With this girl I used some fabrics instead of paper for her clothing, I really like the texture it added to this piece. Don't you just love the burlap Uggs?

I still need to add a  "She Art" phrase, but I haven't come up with the right one just yet.  Hope you have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Doing the Happy Dance!!

This spring I was surprised with a lovely email from Jennifer Jackson, the Assistant Senior Managing Editor for Stampington and Company, the publisher of somerset studio.  Jennifer had come across my blog and loved my "Countdown to Christmas" project, as  I read the email, I could hardly believe my eyes, she was asking me if I would submit my project for publication into the Holidays and Celebrations magazine.  Are you kidding me, Of Course I would!!! I think at this point I was screeching and doing the happy dance! Somerset magazines, in my opinion,  are one of the most beautiful magazines on the market, filled with fabulous mixed media projects created by some very talented artists!!  And she was asking me for one of my projects, how thrilling is that!!  The 2011 issue was released on September 1 and it is more fabulous than I thought it would be, filled with delightful holiday projects for Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day and Birthdays.

My project has a 5 page spread, YES that is 5 whole pages,  Showcasing some of my favorite tags.

And yes I am still doing the happy dance!!  Thank you so much for this opportunity Jennifer!!

Surfer Girl

Ok I don't love Maddie the most but it seems that I am only posting layouts of her lately.  You know there is always one child that likes to be in front of the camera and that is her...big time!  She is definitely my poser.

I bought two pieces of this patterned paper so I could fussy cut elements and pop them up  to create some dimension and movement.

I added some stickles to the waves, love the bling!

What have you been scrapbooking this summer?  Leave a comment and a link to your projects, I would love to see them!!

Upcoming 7 Gypsies Flip Album Class

Ok girls I have a new class for you!!  I created this album using the 7 Gypsies photo stand, but instead of just photos I have made it into a flip style album.  The theme of my album is childhood, mine to be exact.  I have used some of my favorite childhood pictures in this album!

Here is a close up of the detail on the cover.

The thing I love the most about this album is that each layout is created on a paper bag!  I love the vintage look of album and I think you will too.  This class will run on Monday evenings starting July 4 and runs through August 15.  The cost of the class is $24.99 per week and that includes the cost of the photo stand.  If you would like to join me in creating this beautiful album call The Scrap Yard at 403-271-2225 to book your spot.

Daily Life Challenge at The Inspired Scrapper

This week's challenge at The Inspired Scrapper is "daily life".  I loved this challenge because so many everyday moments are just forgotten in the daily grind.  What a great way to preserve memories of life right now!  In January our family switched to an i-mac computer, which is equipped with a photo booth app.  My Maddie just loves this app and has been taking daily pictures of herself, with a multitude of expressions.  Can I just say I think this is hilarious and I love seeing her crazy poses!  Here is the layout I created for the challenge.

Love the crown and the hilarious expressions!

I didn't have the right colour letters for my title so I sprayed some white glitter thickers with Adorondak spray.  I love the colour!

I love scrapbooking the everyday moments, our life is changing so fast these days and I don't want to forget any special memories.  Have a great weekend and Happy Memorial Day weekend to all of you in the States!
